What comes out

The book's title and author, then every chapter in spine order as plain paragraphs, with styling, links, and images left behind. Blank lines separate paragraphs and a wider gap separates chapters, so the file stays readable even at novel length. Books protected with DRM cannot be opened, and the tool says so honestly.

When plain text is the right tool

Word processors and note apps import it without surprises, scripts and search tools cut through it, and character or word counts become trivial. It is also the friendliest format to paste into an AI assistant when you want to ask questions about a book you own.
